Dune Allen is one of those beach towns that keeps it simple, and that’s exactly the draw. It’s right on the west end of 30A where things are quieter, slower, and more nature-focused. You won’t find resorts or big developments out here. Just open beach, locals walking their dogs, and a whole lot of peace and quiet.
It’s a mix of classic old-school beach cottages and newer homes. Some sit right on the Gulf, others back up to coastal dune lakes. And the best part? It still feels like a hidden gem. You can actually hear the waves and see the stars at night. It’s calm but not too far from everything else along 30A.
Where on 30A is Dune Allen Beach
Dune Allen is right where 30A begins off Highway 98. It’s close to everything, but still feels tucked away. You’re about (without traffic):
5 minutes from Gulf Place
10 minutes from Blue Mountain
15 minutes from Seaside
20 minutes from Destin
35 minutes from the airport in Panama City
You’re in a super easy spot to get around, but still have plenty of breathing room.
This area is full of nature and space to unwind. Dune Allen is home to two coastal dune lakes, Oyster Lake and Stallworth Lake. If you’ve never seen one, they’re rare and beautiful. You’ll find boardwalks, quiet trails, and even a few houses with lake and Gulf views.
You’re also right next to Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. It’s huge and honestly one of the prettiest spots in the whole area. You can walk, hike, bike, or just sit by the water. It’s the kind of place that keeps Dune Allen feeling local and peaceful.
