Why I Moved to 30A, Florida

Reason #1: Family

If you know me, then you know the number 1 reason that we decided to move here is family. Being so close to my family meant that not being literally close to them really took its toll on me. My partner Garrett also has a great relationship with his family, and with our families only being a short 15 minute drive from each other, it made the decision to move back that much easier.

Reason #2: Community

In this area the community is like no other than I’ve experienced. Orlando is a pretty big city, and it just didn’t feel the same as here. One of the big things I remember happening all the time was going basically anywhere and running into someone you know from your past. Another thing too is that people here are so friendly. It happens all the time where out of nowhere you find yourself sparking up conversations with people, and meeting people that know other people that you know. It really makes you say “what a small world!” Southern hospitality is alive and well here and I just can’t get enough of it. They even have a lot of community events here like our Polar Plunge that happens every January 1st on the beaches of South Walton where all the proceeds go to charity.

Reason #3: Lifestyle

Number 3 is the lifestyle. This area gives way to such a beautiful landscape to go on walks and bike rides, and I have beautiful waters to paddle boarding and go surfing on. There’s just so much here outdoors. If you love fishing there’s a huge amount of fishing here as well.

Reason #4: Sunsets

30A Sunsets are some of the best in the world, and being only minutes from the beach where I can go whenever I want is absolutely amazing. If you’ve never experienced a sunset here, I urge you to give it a try and let me know how you feel afterwards. I promise you won’t regret it!

Reason #5: Always on Vacation

My final reason I moved here is, as cliche as it sounds, is the feeling like I’m on vacation all the time. The sense of relaxation here is something I can’t really describe. In Orlando I felt more rushed with the hustle culture and everything moving so fast. Here, on the other hand, I just feel like everyone’s moving at their own pace, and they’re not afraid to wear a t-shirt and flip flops to dinner. It truly feels like people are happier here. I’ve heard it from multiple people that they feel like they’re on vacation here and I totally agree with that.

But what do you think? Are these good reasons? Do you feel like you’re always on vacation here? I’d love to hear about what made you move here, or why you might want to move here! Thanks for reading, and as always, I hope you have a great day!
